Hotel Football Summer Football Camp

Jul 24, 2018 | Out And About

If you’ve been following me for long enough (and by long enough I mean more than 1 day) then you’ll know that I’m football mad. A lifelong Preston North End fan and plan half of my life around fixture lists. Whilst also having spent my summer tweeting about the World Cup, VAR, Ian Wrights crazy shirts, Roy Keane’s hilarious one-liners and my dreams of seeing North End win the Premiership and Ireland win a World Cup. We can all dream can’t we!

So when the guys at Hotel Football invited me along to a preview of their new Summer Soccer Camp I was absolutely delighted. Unfortunately, I was too old to take part (age discrimination) as it turns out it’s just for kids (unfair) so I borrowed a child smaller than my own and way more into football than my own and headed off to Manchester for the day.

The kids were in for a treat as hotel co-owner Phil Neville, former Man Utd Class of 92 member, England player and now England Women’s Manager, turned up to put the kids through their paces.

Football Heaven For Kids

Hotel Football’s Summer Football Camp is run by FA qualified coaches and offers youngsters the chance to develop their skills and learn new techniques in a safe, fun environment in a ‘one of a kind’ setting of the rooftop football pitch.

The rooftop pitch also has great views over Old Trafford. Even for a none Man Utd fan like myself.

Each day is carefully structured so children can learn new techniques, develop and enjoy themselves while meeting new friends with engaging activities throughout the day. Even if your kids aren’t that into football they will still have great fun, be active and probably learn something along the way. It’s hard work keeping kids entertained over the summer holidays but this activity definitely got the thumbs up from us.

And on a personal note, I found Phil Neville to be absolutely brilliant with the kids (and parents). He was really down to earth, engaging and encouraged all the kids to give everything a go. Although Phil won’t be taking the Summer Camp, you can still expect a high standard from all the coaches involved.
